Engr. Sule Abdulaziz, the group managing director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has been honored with the Best Environmental Leadership Award in 2023, by the Environmental Reporters Association of Nigeria. This was contained in a statement made available to the press on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023.
According to the statement signed by the President of the Association, Ambrose Inusa Sule, Engr. Abdulaziz was honored for his deft management of the electricity transmission network in an environmentally sound manner in Nigeria.
Ambrose Inusa said that the TCN boss was considered for the Award after a careful and thorough assessment of his accomplishments in the responsible evacuation of electricity generated by the generating companies (GENCOS) and wheeling them to distribution companies(DISCOS) more sustainably.
Ambrose Sule expressed his delight at the recognition and declared, “Engr. Abdulaziz is an astute environmental expert in transmission projects, network operation, maintenance, human resources, and market administration”. He said it was a credit to the TCN boss’s transparency that the sector is environmentally friendly to Nigerians.
According to the press release, the Award is designed as a MEDIA EVENT to reawaken Nigerians on issues of electricity transmission, safety, and system handling and maintenance.
The Transmission Company helmsman has been showered with accolades for bringing sanity and transparency to the electricity transmission sector. Since his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, he has several received commendations worldwide, for the tremendous improvement his management style introduced, despite the scarce resources available.
The Environmental Reporters Association is due to present the Award officially on Tuesday 18th April 2023.
