Lagosians may be afraid to frontally challenge the man described as “Capone”, the reputed boastful gadfly of Lagos politics, but they are not ignorant of his subterranean tactics. A cross-section of Lagosians questioned the decision by one of his evil contraptions called the Governorship Advisory Council” otherwise known as GAC which plotted the removal of the former party chairman of Lagos State All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr Tunde Balogun claiming to pave way for a Muslim ticket in 2023 for the governorship crown. “This man is too clever”, confessed Alhaji Shina Badru. “Nobody will buy into his dirty scheme this time around”, he confessed.
Alhaji Badru blasted the GAC members, a group of octogenarians handpicked by the “Jagaban” to do his biddings using subterfuge to entrench his selfish interest in the Lagos politics. “How can you say Christians have served out their tenure because the present governor has completed the aborted 4 years’ tenure of the former governor who was forced out of office for no reason?”, queried Alhaji Badru. “Even at that, if not because they are mischievous and they think Lagosians are foolish, have they forgotten that the Muslims did 16 years in government (Asiwaju 8 years, Fashola 8 years), reasoned Chief Lanre Adetona a grassroots activist. “If it was good for Muslims to serve 16 years, why not Christians? he questioned.
He went on to carpet the GAC for allowing themselves to be used as divisive tools to hijack legitimately elected government in Lagos State. “We are not going to fold our hands and watch Asiwaju dish out his evil plans this time around”, declared Chief Adetona. “If he doesn’t want to leave peacefully, we will ensure that we do it dramatically at the polls in the next election”, he added.
Another Lagosian Chief Tunde Gbajuma submitted that the days of manipulation by the Lagos godfather are over. “We have established the pattern of his ugly politics; like the plan, he is cooking at the moment to elongate his stay in power”, Adetona said, stressing that this time his plan would backfire. “Come 2023, we are going to retire Tinubu from politics as Edo people did to his protégé Adams Oshiomole”, Chief Adetona further ventured. He, therefore, called on Lagosians to overwhelmingly distance themselves from the so-called Governorship Advisory Council members and treat them like a plague!
