Northern Youths Caution Yorubas’against Ambode

Date:

The persistent attempt by a shadowy group of figures within the ranks of the Yoruba kingdom to disparage Ambode has drawn the ire of members of Northern Youths Forum of Nigeria.

Arising from a hastily conducted Press briefing at the Samaru Hall, Kaduna, the group’s National Secretary, Mallam Jamil Sarham called on the Yoruba’s to close ranks and protect their own.

Mallam Jamil expressed disappointment that the former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has not been allowed to live in peace despite all his good works in Lagos.  The National Secretary insisted that the former Governor has contributed his own quota to the development of Lagos State and has since moved on asking “what’s the matter with laying the foundation stone of a greater Lagos?

The Group noted that Ambode is not the enemy of the House of Assembly; neither is he the enemy of the government.

They observed that despite the stoic silence maintained by Ambode since leaving office honorably, somebody, somewhere is beating the drums of hatred and that fellow will soon be exposed and disgraced.  “We call on the Lagos State house of Assembly to dismiss the claims by the recent demonstrators and ignore the instigation to probe Ambode”, Mallam Jamil stated.  “We state it here unequivocally that Ambode has not committed any crime and those after him will fall in the Red Sea like Pharaoh did”, Jamil declared.

The Ambode supporters group are however itching for a fight to show that the former governor is not a pushover. The group are weighing the options available although they see this recent propaganda as cheap blackmail and the actions of a frustrated politician.
